Hello! First off let’s get to know each other. I’m Evan Gentry and I work for Complete Weddings + Events Sioux Falls. Years ago I was a college student looking for a fun part time job and I discovered that here at Complete. I remember when I first met Sarah, one of the owners. She was just a delight and it’s very possible that you have spoken to her at some point. SO, you know how awesome she is. I was hired on as a DJ in 2015 and quickly fell in love with it! Who would’ve guessed….a guy who loves weddings ;). Anyways, due to my schedule, I would DJ weddings over the summer, as many as I could. I loved the brides and grooms, the food, the parties, but most importantly the cake! I enjoyed being a part of such a fun group of people. It made me seem like I was getting paid to party.
As the company grew here in Sioux Falls, Sarah brought on her husband Chad. Chad brought a fresh perspective to the company and helped us in the field with the operations of it all. Making sure we had all of the necessary equipment and tools for each and every wedding we were to be apart of. This made the summer of 2017 go by in breeze! With having Sarah and Chad working around the clock, we were able to get together more often as a company do more social events to help build the team.
Although the 2017 wedding season was filled with so many great memories and experiences, I was starting lose my passion for DJing, almost like I was getting burnt out. After much contemplation and debating on where to go with my life and how I wanted to pave the path for my career. It came down to a road trip with Chad to help out our Fargo branch. On this long drive, Chad and I got on the topic of the future of Complete Weddings + Events Sioux Falls. He brought up the idea of bringing on a marketing person to help them share memories and keep the company flowing. Naturally I was excited by this because I studied marketing in school.
That was it, that was the spark I needed. I love Sarah and Chad like family. The wedding industry had become something I really enjoyed being around. So with a little push on my end, they brought me on part time as a marketing manager. I get the pleasure of working with vendors, running social media, working with the team on the nights of events, and so much more! I am excited for this journey! Anyways, I hope you all have a great 2018 wedding season!
